Today is National Pet Day, and in honor of your fur baby, we thought we would tackle a common question asked by pet owners when it comes to giving CBD to their pet. The short answer is not going to be very satisfying, but it is true:
TALK TO YOUR VET.
The truth is that if your canine companion is having health issues, the safest route is to have your vet recommend the dosage because of any underlying conditions that may need medical treatment with other diet, pharmaceutical, or surgical interventions.
The typical dosage of CBD for pets is 1-5 mg every 8 hours for pets under 25 lb, 5- 10 mg every 8 hours for pets between 26 and 50 lbs, and 15- 20 mg every 8 hours for pets over 50 pounds. This being said, please consult your pet’s veterinarian before beginning CBD therapy.
